Daytime care for kids that are not in ski school can be arranged easily in Val d'Isere. Snow Babies are the experts. Please see www.snow-babies.com. Donna and her team will look after your kids, take them to and from ski school as well as a host of other jobs that will keep YOU enoying your holiday and more importantly (perhaps) the kids enjoying theirs (which means you'll enjoy yours more too!). We believe Donna and her team run an excellent service and your kids will be in safe hands.
This year they are also hiring out kids equipment such as prams so they really do offer a one stop shop!
Don't forget that kids as young as 3 can learn to ski (dont expect more than casual sliding and snowplay for short periods at a time at this age) and we can arrange it so that lessons tie in with the nanny service provided.
Either way please remember a few things when it comes to taking kids away on snow holidays. Firstly clothing; plenty of clothing, lots of layers and it should be well fitting; kids dont always feel the cold until little hands are very cold. Secondly, make sure you give your kids lots of wholesome food as they will burn calories quickly and plenty of fluids as the dry air at altitude is very dehydrating. Thirdly, make sure they have suncream and singlasses as high altitude affects their skin more than ours. Fourthly, send them off for the day with contact telephone numbers in their pocket, just in case and some change (coins preferably) as hot chocolate breaks are frequently taken in ski school and they need breaks as they tire quickly. Finally remember that kids learn to ski and / or snowboard in different ways to adults. Their rate of progress can be different too (and also between ages, fitness levels etc). Kids just want to have fun on the snow; their technique will improve if they are having fun.
Babysitting
There are several options for babysitting in the evenings. Please enquire with your Fresh Chalets staff.
Whether out of neccessity or pleasure we are proud to be able to recommend Bonne Sante Physio right in the centre of Val d'Isere. (There is an English doctor too if needs be). Lou and her team of English Physios are experts in assessing and fixing you or simply massaging away the aches and pains of the day. They can also do biomechanical assessments and will even come round to Chalet Al...Fresh...Co to give out of this world massages. www.bonnesantephysio.com.
